Dégagé Lifts & Holds: The Ballet Isometric That Burns Like Fire
Day 3 of my 12 Days of Ballet Inspired Fitness series! Today we're working isometric strength—holding your leg in the air in each direction. This is HARDER than it looks.
Key tips:
✓ Pull UP out of your standing hip—don't sink!
✓ Keep your working leg fully extended (straight knee, pointed foot)
✓ Standing leg stays strong and engaged the ENTIRE time
✓ Keep hips square, especially on the back hold
✓ It's okay to wobble—that means it's working!
✓ 30 seconds each leg
This is how dancers build the strength to hold positions on stage. The burn is REAL. 🔥
How long can you hold each direction? Let me know in the comments!
🩰 Follow for Day 4 tomorrow!
