“Never in my life have I heard a sound like that on the 3XS. It’s very big… has a belly.”
These were Adams spontaneous words as he heard the massive sound that came out of the bell when David Pastor playtested the 3XS at ITG 2023.
Normally the sound gets much thinner when we play on a very shallow mouthpiece like the 3XS. However, with David Pastor behind the horn, it sounded rich and full!
This is a testament to how strong of a player David is, using a mouthpiece that is specifically designed to cut off the midrange and focus on the brightness in the sound.
