Dr. Lloyd joined the Alcan Ontario Research Center in Kingston in 1974 where his area of research focused on rapid solidification, metastable alloys, continuously cast alloys, AI-Li alloys and metal matrix composites. He is the recipient of the AIME James Douglas Gold Medal (2003).
