The 11-year history of Dash started as Dark Coin. Back then, the P-word was embraced. In later years, it's DAO spawned a more corporate structure called DCG, Dash Core Group, who felt the privacy features of Dash would jeopardize relationships with exchanges and other mainstream entities. Private Send was never stripped out of Dash, but it was absent from marketing thereafter.
The current landscape of crypto is proving that the P-word is indeed important. It's refreshing to see Dash tap into it's roots and not only embrace it's existing privacy but add more to it with CT, Confidential Transactions and possibly Hush's Sietch feature to further increase the anonymity.
