Happy Halloween everyone. Here is the final video in this year's Halloween series and my recreation of the 2006 comicbook "Darkman vs the Army of Darkness".
Darkman vs Army of Darkness was a crossover between two film franchises created by Sam Raim: the Darkman, a superhero film series following Peyton Westlake, a disfigured doctor turned violent vigilante. And the Evil Dead franchise, a series of fims concerning Ash Williams, a one handed supermarket worker forced to fight demons and undead raised by an evil spellbook.
The film would begin with Julie Hastings, Darkman's estranged former girlfriend accidentally reading an incantation from the Necronomicon, a dark spellbook wrapped in human flesh. The incantation would cause Julie to become posessed by a demon call the Queen of Darkness, and people throughout the city would become be transformed into demonic monsters called deadites.
Darkman would arrive too late to save Julie, but would rescue her assistant Brynne Kelly. Using the necronomicon, Darkman and Brynne would try to summon the Hero from the Sky, the deadites' long time enemy. This hero proves to be Ash Williams, a once-ordinary man who became a chainwielding demon slayer after a encounter with the necronomicon while on a vacation to the woods years ago.
Meanwhile the Queen of Darkness would have formed herself an army of deadites and would resurrect the gangster Robert G. Durant, Darkman's oldest enemy, to serve as her general.
Darkman and Ash would form an awkward alliance as they try to find a way to defeat the deadites and a restore the city to normal.
Thank you for sticking with for this project, it's been a bit of an adventure. One of the things I really enjoyed about this project was trying to find as many Evil Dead looking monsters as I could. I always like it when I can footage that looks like part of a film franchise but actually comes from somewhere else.
While researching this project I discovered I really don't like zombie films. You're looking at the only set of trailers that actually gave be anxiety.
Anyway, I'm going to start reseaching my next project, have a spooky day.
