This October at DarkCon Jeff Hopper will be running 2 games. the first is Skimming Off the Top. This Old School Essentials game will use have up to 4 players playing 4th to 5th level pre-gens.
Jeff's summary of Skimming Off the Top is as follows.
The village of Wretched Shore is a small place known as a stopover for Elvish Kank herders and the occasional giant who wades in from the Sea of Silt for trade. Yet when the wind is still and you can see beyond the powdery fog, there are islands and mud flats stretching to the horizon. Dune Trader Lascelles has acquired a Scout Sail silt skimmer and is hiring adventurers to go exploring along the silt archipelago for adventure and profit. How can you not want to come along? DarkCon is the world’s only in person Dark Sun convention. It will be a weekend of Dark Sun games and events. There will be Dark Sun Games of many editions and systems. AD&D 1e, AD&D 2e, D&D 3.5e, D&D 5, Old School Essentials, and ShadowSun a Shadow Dark conversion of Dark Sun.
Our Special Guest is Greg Christopher. He will be giving away 100 copies of his 130-page ShadowSun quick Start rules. The first 100 people with a 2-day pass will receive these.
There will also be a world record braking game of Dark Sun run by Jason O’Mahony. 100+ players will compete as gladiators until only one lives.
Lastly, we will test your Dark Sun knowledge with a game of Dark Sun Jeopardy. The winner will be declared the Sage Supreme of Dark Sun for 2026.
