Experimented with the video editing a little, layers and image resources in particular. Wanted to try using other scene transitions, instead of just always using fade to/from black, as well but none of the built in ones seem to work well with just general gameplay. I'm still hesitant about adding any sound effects or music until I fully understand what really is free to use.
