Good spot to farm souls.. This boss is a joke. Just watch out for the hole in the ground.
If you're standing far enough to one side you can just strafe around his fire breath, you can also block it with Gyrm's Greatshield which naturally has 100% fire resistance. You can run behind the corner to avoid it but he'll often just use it again if your too far away. All of the other attacks can easily be avoided. I forgot how far light roll went and almost went off the side here.. That attack was nowhere close to me.
Damage resistances are mostly common sense in Dark Souls 2. Enemies with tough skin or armour are weak to Strike, enemies with light armour or no armour are weak to slash and thrust.
