Dark Apes: The Fate Of Devolution is a first-person shooter action game developed by Wolfgroup and published by IncaGold GmbH and Sdll S.A.S in 2005. The game follows a nameless protagonist who awakens in a hospital just as it is overrun by vicious, monkey-like infected creatures. Already equipped to face the threat, he must fight through the chaos and collect mysterious crystals that allow him to halt the creatures’ mutations and disrupt the source of their power.
NoirStation Rating: ⭐⭐ - Dark Apes: The Fate of Devolution is a short and somewhat silly experience. It’s easy to see why some people dismiss it, but the outrage in other reviews feels overblown. For a small studio with a tiny budget in the early 2000s, it’s not a terrible game. Compared to the flood of low-quality releases today, it’s at least somewhat respectable.
