Try editing the Engine.ini file.
Before doing anything, fully close the Epic Games Launcher.
Press Win + R type %localappdata% and press Enter
Find EpicGamesLauncherSavedConfigWindowsEditor
Create a text file and name it Engine.ini, if there isn’t one there already
Paste this into Engine.ini:

Save the file.
Restart your PC Try installing Fortnite again.
Go your Epic Games Library, and used the 3 dots, manage, and then uncheck the high resolution textures, closed the launcher, reopened, and then restarted the update and it finished without issue.
disable the high resolution textures in the fortnite options on the launcher.
Completely close the Epic Games Launcher.
Go to Local Disk (C:) → Program Files → Epic Games.
Right-click the Fortnite folder, or the folder of the game that is having download issues, and select Properties.
Select the Security tab and click Edit.
Select Users from the Group or user names list.
Check Allow for Full control, then click Apply.
Restart the Epic Games Launcher and try downloading the game again.

Another fix that has worked for many people is simply to keep clicking “Resume” until the installation is complete. Start the installation, and when the error appears after reaching around 10% progress, click “Resume” to continue from where it left off. Keep clicking “Resume” whenever the error occurs until the installation reaches 100%.
