Fix Connection Timed Out" In Palworld
Restart the Palworld Server
A simple server restart resolved the "Connection Timed Out" error for some players. If you're hosting the server yourself, completely stop the server, wait a few seconds, and then start it again before trying to reconnect.
If you're using Playit.gg, make sure the Palworld server's configured Game Port matches the external port assigned by Playit.gg, rather than leaving it at the default 8211. This resolved intermittent "Connection Timed Out" errors after the 1.0 update.
Go into the instance settings → network and ports and changing the game port to match the Playit port (again, in my case from 8211 → 1179) has fixed all connection issues to my server.
In the PalWorldSettings.ini file ensure that "bIsMultiplay=true"
Go to your game Folder directory :\Steam\steamapps\common\Palworld\Pal\Saved\Config
Then the file is: PalWorldSetings.ini
Ask Your Server Host to Assign a New IP Address
If you're using a hosting provider such as G-Portal, the issue may be related to the server's IP address. One user resolved the problem by contacting G-Portal support, who moved the server to a different IP address. After the IP was changed, players could connect normally.
Set Your NAT Type to Open
If you're trying to join a friend's world (instead of a dedicated server), ensure both players have an Open NAT Type. You can usually achieve this by enabling UPnP or forwarding the required ports on your router. One player reported that after both players changed their NAT Type to Open, they were able to connect successfully.
