Ave Maria
This work was written as a dedication to Catherine Tan. It was inspired by the tenacity of the human spirit during the challenging 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. Set to the sacred text of Ave Maria, it reflects a prayerful call for hope and harmony both in the world and within oneself. The piece is part of the Towards A Better World Project, an initiative by Voices of Singapore, aiming to bring hope, restart music making globally, and address global issues through performances recorded at the historic Pasir Panjang Power Station.
