Suppose you are wondering where I have been all this time?
Something really bad happened last month.
This was bad too the point where I nearly lost my relationship and my job. I didnt have any inspiration for anything, getting out of bed was a struggle just to face the day.
It got ridiculous too a point I knew I needed help, so for the entirety of September and the first week of October I went into counseling and therapy. I know I am a long way from recovering completely but I take everyday as easy as I can.
My problem was that I was running around doing everything for everyone else that I completely forgot to take care of myself and thats when it all went south.
Anyways, I have decided to put my health first and I cut a lot of stress out of my life, both online and offline.
I had to leave some studios and I havent spoken to friends in awhile. So if I dont appear to be talkative, please dont take it personally.
Im not after anyones sympathy as my old English teacher used to tell me if you are looking for sympathy its in the dictionary between shit and syphilis

I cant say how long I have spent editing this, too long I guess. I started this last year at some point, going through so many betas and songs, at least I found this song and the inspiration came back.I have much to thank to the composer TheEngimaTNG, as my personal thank you, I edited to his song collab with KristianaOneandOnly and I purchased his albums on iTunes.

I have always liked the DmC reboot, the game just has amazing environment design like when youre in Limbo, a bunch of buildings exploded so hard that the law of gravity went Im sick of you assholes taking me for granted and stormed out lol there is just original aesthetics and it blew my mind really. I hope that DMC5 also has that kind of environment design, instead of those basic levels of sewers, ruined buildings and industrial areas that you get with standard AAA gaming these days.

This one is pretty basic, I hardly used any effects. Just a slight colouring, overlay and some transitions - I wanted to challenge myself to not rely on effects so much so most of the time I worked on this video with the colouring and overlay disabled so I would edit with raw clips.

We had decided to take the original theme/aesthetic approach from the Noir idea in the sign up and went further into it as it is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations.
We aimed at Lightning and her failed relationships with many other Final Fantasy men. We wondered why Lightning never was matched canonically with a man in the video game series and it is obvious her personality is a very dominating one. She is a strong/powerful woman and thus she doesnt need or depend on another - using this information, we edited her trying to have relationships with men but they never seem to work out - either they were not loyal or other underlying issues.
Whoever you ship Lightning with, it will never be Canon but we can always dream!

This is a video to demonstrate the darkstyle aesthetic, as some people probably dont see Darkstyle editing often or know what it is. As you can see this editing is nearly the opposite of Candystyle.
Through the video I altered the styles to demonstrate each style a bit more clearly.
Note: I am no way perfect on any of these methods, I am merely an EXAMPLE of the types of Darkstyle, and the style is more than just 5 tricks. I have included links below to videos which demonstrate the style more accurately - please subscribe to the editors who edited these videos!
0:00 Soft -
More compared to raw, only slightly altering the dark colouring, using fades as transitions. This one is more focusing on the clips themselves to keep flow and momentum. Hardly any overlays used and no typography for the most part.

0:50 Emotional -
Best known used with powerful songs, using lightly more harsh filmscratch overlay, slow transitions, colour bleeds or long fades. Often using clips to show their emotional pull touching scenes either tragic or heartwarming. The typography is basic but powerful.

1:40 Technical -
Using more advanced transitions such as newblue and or other advanced effects/transitions, where the editing is focused more on the effects than the footage itself. The use of composite modes like dodge or multiply for text and overlays is common and masking is a huge effect used in this style also.

My most common Darkstyle.
The colouring mostly black and white but with some hint of flesh tones or other darker colours like blue or gray. There is a use of fast transitions, and a mild to heavy use of use of movement overlays and quick fades. A filmscratch overlay placed on composite modes and overlays are a huge factor to the aesthetic style.

3.30 Grunge -
Very heavy filmscratch grunge texture. Using fast transitions, colour switching to b/w erratically. This style usually comes with big text in either stylistic fonts, such as thick textured fonts with linear movements

So, I had asked DarkAndi to a collab with me, mainly because a few of my fans *ahem* was very impressed with her MEP part in Vicarious that I hosted, saying she had amazing flow and wanted me to do a collab with her.
I agreed. It was a very MEP part and I thought she could teach me alot about flow.
Seems to be doing welll because my last video Final Asylum, I got a comment saying it had amazing flow and to say the least, that gave me a mazzive ego boast lol
It did take awhile, since we both had computer problems and more me just being lazy lol
