On the third day of the five day Tihar Hindu Celebration, groups of young girls perform along the main street in Lakeside, singing and dancing to the special song known as Bhailo or Bhailini. They go door-to-door, giving blessings to the family or business in return for money or treats. The dancing goes on into the night, in courtyards and on streets decorated with small lit candles, which symbolize this "Festival of Lights," by which Tihar is also known. Although the dancing and singing continues for another two days, right up until the end of the five day celebration, the song Bhailo is played only on this one day during the year.
