Ok, I started another Damon/Elena video, and I wanted it to include many quotes from the books. I had quotes from the first 6 books in a word file on my computer, but I didn't have any Midnight quotes, so I went through the book. And when I read Damon's death scene, I cried again. Cried like a little girl, because it was so epicly, tragically and heratbreakingly beautiful it made my heart ache. And for me, that scene was the final nail in the SE coffin. Even Stefan realized it (not exact quotes, I go by memory): "I'm sorry for coming between the two of you, I didn't know how much you loved each other"; "It's not me you want". Yes, Elena does love him, but for me, her love for him could never compare to her love for Damon. And it's not fair, because the choice was taken away from her.
Yes, I do know Damon turned out to be alive. Yes, I know 3 more books are coming. BUT they won't be "The Vampire Diaries" to me. SO, imo, Midnight was the end of the series, with a bittersweet ending for us, Damon/Elena fans.
Anyway, enough with the rambling (though if anyone wants to discuss the books, send me a message ;] ). Reading this scene again inspired this video. I wanted to do one about it when I first read it, but back then, I didn't have the proper scenes. Then, after 2x22, I had them, but I just didn't feel like it. SO, it might be waaaay too late, but this video is here.
For those of you who haven't read the books and will watch this only as TV show fans, imagine Damon died in 2x22...
