After a grueling first week at the Dakar Rally 2025, Brian Baragwanath and the Century Racing team are taking a well-deserved rest day. With six Century CR7 cars still in the race, the team has shown impressive pace and resilience in what Brian describes as the “toughest first week of Dakar” he’s ever experienced.
Key Highlights from Week 1:
Marathon Madness: The first week included a brutal marathon stage, testing both drivers and cars to their limits. Brian admits it was one of the hardest starts to a Dakar he’s faced.
Century’s Strong Performance: The CR7 cars have been flying, with multiple Century entries in the top 10. Brian and co-driver Leonard Cremer have kept pace with the front runners, despite some tricky navigation challenges.
Team Spirit: With a truly international team – including drivers from South Africa, Brazil, China, and Zimbabwe – the Century pits are a hive of activity and camaraderie.

Sand & Strategy: With more sand dunes on the menu, Brian is confident the CR7 will perform well, especially after a strong showing in the early dune stages.
