DAC8775 Quad-Channel, 16-Bit Programmable Current Output and Voltage Output Digital-to-Analog Converter with Adaptive Power Management.

This is a DAC that features 4-20ma, 0-10V, +- 10V and more outputs, all without changing hardware, perfect for industrial applications
The DAC8775 chip also features 4 independent Buck Boost converters that generate the dual supply voltage for each of the DAC channel (Yes, one buck boost for each DAC), and these can dynamically adjust as you change output requirements.
for convenience there is also Alarm functions detecting shorts and open circuits too, helping to protect your solution and alerting operators.
This is part one, introducing the DAC, in part 2 we look at the board in detail and the schematics, part 3 will power it up and exercise the chip using windows GUI application provided by TI (Sorry MAC or Linux users). I will endeavour to provide Arduino IDE based code in the future.
