La Karencita | DA NANG & HOI AN | Experience Vietnamese markets by day and by night @LaKarencitaMX | Uploaded August 2020 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
Vietnam's markets are a must-see experience. You can see where all the delicious ingredients come from, haggle with the locals and even enjoy some delicious, and really cheap, street food while you're there. Before the return of coronavirus to Vietnam and Da Nang's lockdown, I went out to find this important piece of Vietnamese culture to share with you.
I visited the famous market in the centre of the historic town of Hoi An and saw the fresh seafood on offer as well as trying the local Vietnamese food, Cau Lau, a specialty of the town.
Then I take you to the tourist hotspot of Da Nang's night market, where all manner of exotic seafood, both alive and dead, is available for you to eat for super cheap prices.
Unfortunately, Vietnam isn't open to tourists right now, so let me show you all of the sights and experiences of Da Nang and Hoi An.
This video was filmed between 20 and 24 July 2020, just before Da Nang was put back into lockdown. As you can see, nobody is wearing a mask and life was back to normal. Unfortunately, things have changed a lot since covid came back to Vietnam and Da Nang is back under social distancing rules, meaning no more delicious market food. Remember when this was filmed before you ask why I'm not wearing a mask.
I'm Mexican and I've been living in Vietnam for just over a year now. If you want to find out about Vietnamese culture or find out about what it's been like in Vietnam during the coronavirus pandemic, check out some of my other videos.
