Of all places in Night City, Westbrook is considered by many to be the best one to live. Parts of Westbrook adjacent to City Center suffered significant damage during the Nuke Incident in 2023. The tall buildings of Japantown took the brunt of the explosion’s shockwave, and for the next twenty years, crumbling, naked skeletons of skyscrapers haunted the landscape.

Charter Hill was flooded with city refugees, their tents and houses spreading far and wide over the hills of North Oak. Then came the rebuilding in 2040 and step by step Night City began to recover. Asian corporations began to erect the new megabuildings restoring Japantown to its former glory over the next thirty years. The shanty town in Charter Hill was eventually liquidated and its inhabitants relocated to some poorer parts of the city. The whole area was rebuilt to serve as a mass housing for corporate employees.

Japanwotn was primarily inhabited by people of Japanese descent, hence the name. During daytime it is usually crowded with tourists that seek a good time at the many bars and restaurants. Clean and safe by day, this district is a perfect spot of sightseeing, and it’s just one bridge away from the famous Corpo Plaza.
Japantown also has a second face. After dark, it becomes the party district for the rich. Corpos are looking to blow off some steam after a day of the exhausting rat race and tourists are usually more interested in a typical wild Night city night.
This place is controlled by the Tyger Claws, however, they put business in the first place, but you can never be too careful.

Charter Hill is a relatively new and well-maintained corporate district that was built from scratch during the rebuilding period. It is the house for virtually every mid-level corpos that work from sunrise to sunset in the city center. They all secretly dream of becoming CEO of some corpo and move to a big house in North Oak. If you ever see someone there not suited up in corpo style, they are probably an rising musician, or some well-paid freelancer who is rich enough to live around here.

North Oak is the crown jewel of Night City, it is the newest part of the town and it is an exclusive residential district for the super rich. The 1%? More like the 0.01% live here. Only corporate CEOs, hedge fund managers and environment bankers live in this area. Oh, and of course, also the greatest Brain Dance stars and musicians.
Outsiders are obviously not welcome here and private security is tight. Even the airspace near North Oak is monitored and defended with advanced weaponry.
The whole area consists of vast estates, some of them with their own microbiome artificially created. Both the Arasaka Mansion and Kerry Eurodyne’s villa lie in North Oak. They couldn't be any more opposite on the ideological spectrum, but money is money I guess.
