Following her uplifting return with the 2020 album WAKEN, today Mayuko Hitotsuyanagi aka Cuushe announces the release of WAKEN Remixes, a full album of new interpretations and remixes from a notable cross-section of her friends, peers, and notable electronic artists. The album is set for release March 10th on FLAU, and today shares Kate NV's remix of "Nobody". The enigmatic Russian artist (and Glintshake vocalist) creates a bouncy world of electronic pop with an infectious, brightly colored beat.

FLAU and raum proudly announces first album of Montreal based Stefan Jós by Devon Hansen aka Lotide (Astro Dynamics:), D.Hansen (Where To Now?). Primitives is the spacious and bugged-out sequel to his last ep Things You Left Behind. Careful restraint remains, but the sober crispiness of the EP is subsumed on Primitives by loose and moody rhythms, wood and metal, weird noises in wet caves and other goodies for ground-dwellers and mole people alike. The album mastered by Miles Whittaker (Demdike Stare), mastercut by Andreras [Lupo] Lubich.

Fluttering, moth-to-a-flame synths steadily grow to a frenzied crescendo in ‘像自己 (xiangziji)’. Like catching the train to the centre of Tokyo and gradually seeing the city come alive with lights and people, this track is a crashing wave of awe. Its beat like an agitated heartbeat, synths conjuring soft noir with a worn, scratched aesthetic, ‘像自己 (xiangziji)’ is calm, an out-of-body experience among bubble-era establishments.

Named FEM — which stands for “Finite Element Method” (a way of problem-solving by subdividing large into small) — the project marks a change from Cuushe’s usual electronic dreamscapes, instead stepping into the realm of guitars, bass and drums.
