This was a bit of a sad project for the homestead. These two beautiful oaks were perfectly healthy. I hate to cut down healthy trees, especially when we have lost so many trees on the homestead in the last two summers of drought in Texas. However, in this case, it was necessary.
Since we are adding on to our house, the carport had to come down and be rebuilt on the other side of the driveway. These two trees were right in the way of where we will need to pull in and out of the carport. So, as much as I didn't want to cut down these trees, I needed to.
