Cutting a cheap beach mat back in 2015. This was the second round of testing for the sharpening on my Talhoffer. The first was a pool noodle, but I didn't get any footage. I bought the sword second hand and the factory edge was a bit dull, so I put a razor edge on it. This type of blade (diamond cross section) is more difficult to cut tatami with than lenticular or Japanese style blades.
