In this video, I cut and polish a Lightning Ridge black opal sourced from Black Opal Direct (@blackopaldirect).

Starting with rough material, I work through the process of shaping, sanding, and polishing to reveal the colour and character hidden within the stone. Lightning Ridge is famous for producing some of the world's most valuable black opal, and it's always exciting to see what emerges during the cutting process.
