Minister of Finance Ryan Straughn is calling on customs officers to assure Barbadians that they will do the best possible job in the interest of the country.

The Minister was addressing the department's 121st anniversary celebration church service.

He noted that it is critical for the Customs Department to work closely with other government agencies.

The Minister also reminded Barbadians that the sole purpose of the department is to ensure border security, collect revenue and facilitate business.

He says this is why Barbadians must be honest when presenting their information to the Customs and Excise Department.
