The Barbados Figure Skating Festival is being described as a success, with young local competitors benefiting from top-level coaching.

The event, which was staged last week, provided an opportunity for skaters on the island to develop their craft.

Managing Director of the School of Skate-A-Holics, Wanell Neversam, says the festival represents a major step forward for the sport.
