Using my five custom-made Saria plushies as an example, I go over a partly comprehensive guide on what money, quality and sourcing will get you. I also go over the backstories of my five particular plushies. I go over price tiers, features, websites, and the quality of each plush, depending on how cheap, or expensive, you wish to go.
Plushies in this video, in order of size:
4" Mini Saria, made by Set Sonaku
- the smallest, most affordable one of the bunch.
14" "OG" Original Saria, made by Custom Plushie (now defunct)
- the OG of my Saria plushies. I had her made for my 18th birthday as my first comfort object.
30" 2.5ft Baby Saria, made by Big Sexy Plush (BSP)
- cute, huggable, and can make it past TSA at the airport. For when I have to travel, she's ready. I had her made specifically for travel.
54" 4.5ft Child Saria, made by BSP
- As seen in my Zelda Dungeon posts. I had her commissioned after my dad died in 2016. We've weathered mental health, EF-4 tornadoes, pandemics, and a very bad depression episode last year. Full of love and cuteness, and my go-to plush for any bad days.
66" 5.5ft Adult Saria, made by BSP
-big, beautiful, loveable... and my take on the Adult Saria hype train before a certain modder came out with a playable Saria mod featuring her.
Very special thanks to @bigsexyplush for allowing me to commission three of these amazing plushie girls over the years. I wish I could link their website, but I don't want to get in trouble with YouTube's Community Guidelines.
*editor's note: the BSP plushies have printed-on appliques, and not ironed on.
You can Google "custom plush commissions" to find a plush crafter, or head to Etsy. Devianart and Reddit plush-related forums can also help. Other sources can include Budsies, Fiver, Plush Toy Kingdom, and other independent plush crafters.
