This is a tribute to Cliff Nelson, School Teacher/Seasonal Ranger who served at Little Bighorn National Battlefield Monument. On my very first visit to the Little Bighorn Battlefield in 1985 Cliff Nelson was the interpreter on duty to show and talk to us visitors about the Battle of the Little Bighorn which took place on June 25, 1876 when Col George Armstrong Custer was killed along with his five companies that were with him fighting the overwhelming force of Sioux and Chyenne led by Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull. The rest of the 7th Cavalry fought in the valley under Major Marcus Reno and later on the hilltop joining Captain Frederick Benteen on the hilltop on the same day and into the 26th of June. I can never forget Ranger Nelson as he was an excellent presenter and very well versed in the battle. Sadly a few years later he was murdered in his home. I hope this video will mean something to others who remember him.
When I filmed this in the mid 1980's the digital high quality video for consumers had not yet come to the market. This was filmed on VHS Tape and I have converted it to digital format.
