TrojanHorse711 | Curse of Issyos playthrough (1cc, Best Ending) @Trojan711 | Uploaded April 2023 | Updated October 2024, 4 days ago.
Managed to get a 1cc of Curse of Issyos tonight, and it happened while I was recording, so I'm uploading it to YouTube!

Curse of Issyos is a free game by Locomalito done in the style of NES Castlevania games set in Ancient Greece. I wanted to get around to beating it for a while, so I'm glad to finally get it off my bucket list. It's a lot of fun, but it's pretty hard if you don't know what you're doing! Music is done by Gryzor87 and was composed in pxtone (the tool Daisuke Amaya made for use with Cave Story back in 2004), and I think it sounds really good, so expect to see a remix of that soon!
My main gripes are not necessarily with the game itself, but with how recording this went. This game as far as I am aware, does not have preset resize options built into the game itself, meaning I have to track down the configuration file and resize it manually if I want it to cooperate with OBS. I am aware I can resize the window by dragging it, but I'd much rather have it close to pixel perfect if I can help it. It also has a weird quirk where it will not accept D-Pad input after resetting. I'm not sure if it's an issue with Xinput controllers or just a quirk with the game, though. All minor issues, of course, and not really relevant if I were to play without recording.
As for the game itself, Stage 4 sucks because of the boulders spawning in random locations, and the platforming in Stage 5 can be a bit tense. That's really about it, though. I highly recommend this game if you like old-school Castlevania!
