I put out containers of water on my balcony during the hot weather to give birds a drink. But I couldn't work out why the water levels sometimes dropped suddenly. Now I know! Pied currawongs love to splash in them.
This bird spent over 20 minutes washing today, going from one container to the next and back again. I'm guessing it was to get rid of mites.
There's no sound because it was filmed through a glass door.
