Supports for 3d Printed objects are not all or nothing. With Cura 4.4 (Cura 4.0 and Later) you have significant support over the generation of supports, the placement of supports and the support style. In this video, I discuss and demonstrate some of the more advanced Cura Support settings.
This discussion of supports applies to all FDM printers. I use these techniques on my Prusa i3 Mk3, my Creality Ender 3 Pro and Ender 5 printers, and my Monoprice Select Mini, MP10 and Ultimate 2 printers.
Why the parameter names vary between slicers, the concepts presented in this video apply to Cura, PrusaSlicer and Simpify3d.
