Yesterday, the 4th of July 2015 marked the 175th anniversary of the first trans-atlantic crossing made by a Cunard ship.
Eactly 175 years ago, the 1150 tonne Paddle steamer, Britannia left Liverpool bound for America. Today the same route is taken by Cunard's flagship; Queen Mary 2. At 150,000 GRT, she is the largest, most powerfull and luxurious ocean liner ever built.
In a few weeks I'll be onboard! :)
