Hi, fault with an Airforce 12,000 BTU heatpump purchased from B&Q many years ago has finally packed up.
The fault is that when set to either cool or heat, the fans of both the indoor and outdoor unit come on and the compressor begins to start but after about a second it stops as if there is some overload. I've checked with a clamp meter and it gets to about 4 amps before it shuts down.

The board leds flash several codes: I believe the green led flashes when there is communication between the indoor and outdoor units but I have no idea what the red or yellow LED's mean. The red LED 3 flashes 8 times in a row and the yelloe LED 4 flashes ones every now and again.

The indoor yellow heating LED sometimes flashes 5 times in a row but not always.

I've checked all the connections on the board and compressor and there doesn't seem to be any obvious fault.

Any help required.

Outdoor unit model: GWHD12B2NK3AB/O
Indoor unit model: GWHD12B2NK3AB/I

Outdoor board model: GRJW9M-A1 V2.31

Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, your my only hope...
