Digitized Super8/Sound cine film shot at the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad, USA in June 1996.
The majority of the film depicts a public service train slogging up the 4% grade (1 in 25) from Chama to the 10,000 ft summit at Cumbres and double-headed by K36 2-8-2 locomotives 487 and 488. The train is filmed being prepared in Chama Yard and at several locations along the line climbing to Cumbres.
The final section of the film was taken on a photographic charter using K36 number 489 hauling a long mixed freight consist.
