In the third book of Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis seeks to explain Christian behaviour to his readers, leaving his most explicitly theological exposition to the fourth and final chapter. I suggest that the logic of this order is less warranted by the material than it is a sign that he is following the order presented in Dante's Divine Comedy.
Yet even there, he (typically for a modern man) inverts the theological virtues and places faith AFTER hope and charity, a point I discuss in the next lecture.
