The Crossing of the Abyss is one of the most important initiations in secret societies of the western esoteric tradition such as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the Argenteum Astrum, in which one uses occult techniques to ascend the Tree of Life of Kabbalah, dissolve the Ego, and return to union with God.
It is a treacherous ordeal that can easily drive one to madness - or worse.
Last year I took the bold step of attempting the Crossing of the Abyss. I found it extremely difficult despite having over 17 years' experience as an occult practitioner. If you attempt to put yourself through this ordeal, you do so AT YOUR OWN PERIL.
