The damage dealt by the amazon synod is still having its effects in the Roman Catholic world with a pseudo-apologist recently saying that those who attack the "Pachamama" veneration commit a grievous sin that they must confess to their priest which is absolutely laughable. But this attitude has its precedence in natural theology which if consistently followed would lead not only to perennialism, but also treating the faith in a secondary manner and prioritizing a earthly union over spiritual union, of which the Roman Catholic Church no doubt is a forerunner of.
