The G20 received an EARTH INDEX score of 5% for the power sector, indicating a slight decline in emissions and movement in the right direction. However, for this sector to meet its aggregate G20 emissions reduction targets, the pace of reductions will need to be 20 times higher than in 2019.

In Powering Net-Zero, leading climate specialists take a deeper look at what EARTH INDEX results tell us about our efforts to decarbonize the power sector in G20 countries by 2030.

Joined by Diana Fox Carney, Pavan Sukhdev, Ralph Torrie, Julia Frayer and Filip Engel, our Critical Emissions event series kicks off with how the power sector can help close the gap between emissions reduction targets G20 leaders have committed to and the actions they're taking to deliver on them.
