We came across this male wrasse a week ago and it did the same thing. It checked me out too and gave my finger a nibble.
The behaviour seems to be more curious than aggressive. Whatever is going on in its brain, it's behaving differently from the other males of the same species nearby. They weren't interested in us at all.
