Some cooool creatures seen on a single dive at Chowder Bay in Sydney Harbour in December 2019. It starts with an incredibly cute juvenile puffer fish species we've never seen before. Later, a group of bluespotted flutemouths are congregating around a long steel spear. Are they using it as camouflage, or do they think it's a relative? The longsnout boarfish paraded in front of me for ages.
The cast in order of appearance:
- a juvenile starry puffer fish (probably)
- a lone longsnout boarfish
- a nudibranch (Jorunna sp) and a tiger pipefish below
- bluespotted flutemouths
- a white's seahorse (the brown one)
- a school of hardyhead
- a white's seahorse (the orange one)
- a school of bridled leatherjacket
- a threebar porcupine fish
- two mourning cuttlefish
