Pearl Abyss announced the first Crimson Desert expansion at State of Play on 3 September 2026. Charting the Unknown arrives on 15 October 2026 at $24.99, on PS5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The base game is required.

WHAT IS IN IT
A ship of your own. Pearl Abyss' wording is that you "take command of your own ship and set sail across the ocean to explore uncharted islands and discover what lies beyond the familiar coastlines". The trailer shows the deck being crewed as well as the ship under sail.
Diving. Sunken ruins, treasure and whatever is living in them, reached in a proper diving suit. The pre-order bonus is the Charter's Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and the Charter's Light Diving Set for Damiane, which tells you how central this is meant to be.
Housing, expanded. Choose the plot, then lay the interior out room by room.
Facilities and staff. Shops and workshops you can rent, employees hired by name, and a daily wage against what the place earns.
Relationships. New ways to get closer to the people of Pywel.
New threats on land and at sea, including whatever that is waiting in the dark water.
THE FOUR STORY THREADS
Pearl Abyss lists four: an ominous presence in the desert, a dangerous political conflict, a journey beyond time, and an ancient secret beneath the waves. Kliff, Oongka and Damiane each carry their own way through them.
