Crikey is Australia’s leading independent news site that offers political analysis on current events and media issues in Australia. During the 2014 Victorian State elections, Leo Burnett Melbourne worked with Crikey to develop an attention-getting stunt that perfectly showcased the duplicity and dishonesty of politicians running for office. The magazine took 8 of key promises from each of the two major political parties’ candidates and etched them into stone, and then displayed these stone tablets on the steps of the Victorian State Library. #SetInStone served to viscerally document the many empty promises these politicians campaigned on, and reinforced Crikey’s position as a champion of accountability and honest reporting in Australia.
