Crickets LOVE eating mealworms.
No matter what variety of fruit/vegetables/grains/paper/cotton I put in there, when I put in freeze-dried mealworms, they get really hyper and anxious and go crazy over eating them. Unfortunately, I didn't start recording until after they took some of them but I just thought at the last moment that I should record.
I now also learned that the video will record in a stupid way sometimes, I guess you call it "tall screen" instead of "wide screen". The dumb thing, is that it puts black bars on the sides of the video, meaning, when i try to flip the video, it makes the video even smaller (about 1/3 the size).
I know I need to clean the tank their in.
This is a test run to see what neglecting will create so that I will know how often I need to clean. The issue with cleaning, is eat time you open it, you risk them jumping or flying (if they can, not sure, but they have wings and someone said they can, but I don't think they can) and they eat practically everything, so it could be REALLY bad if they got out in your home and I am not sure if there is a problem with them being loose outside, since i have never seen the brown ones outside here.

I replaced the dirty egg carton with a brand new one. I poked a few holes in it and tried to make it the same shape, but slightly bigger, so it would be similar to the one they had. I also removed the broken up plastic forks from the water dish and bought and replaced with 5 or 6 cotton-balls, which is what was recommended to me. I also noticed, when I blow air into there through the vented lid, they don't like it and will run away from anywhere they are.
I have been very lucky and while feeding and replacing stuff, none of them jumped even once, so there was no risk for escape, though it's only a matter of time before that happens.
Fact: To those that feed crickets to anything (including fishing), I have no problem with that and enjoy watching things eat them.
