Hey all you amazing people! Here is a blast from the past! Shurnken Head made from paper mache. The first step is to create a ball from news paper tape it up and then add mache. After that to help make creating facial features we will talk a small bit of paper and create a nose shape and two eye shapes glue them into place and then strip mache over them to lock them into place.
The next step in this process is to cover the face with a thin layer of paper clay then start building up and detailing the features, example the eyes, eye brows, nose, lips, cheeks all that great stuff that makes a face, a face. After you have those details done and it has dried up, you can work on adding color buy painting him. I recommend basing it in black, once that is dry at this time drill some holes in the eyelids and the mouth so you can add stitches later. After all that is done go a head and add you color. Now to create hair I use jute twine that I pull apart to create smaller pieces I then soak that in a paint water solution to stain the twine what ever color I want. next you will drill some holes into the head to glue your hair to, I do this because I hang these heads by their hair and this makes a stronger bond. then just hot glue the stitches into place and your all done!
