rj32 | Creepy abandoned house 1918 homestead. @rj32 | Uploaded February 2015 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
This homestead was built in 1918 and was the home of a an elderly couple until 1954. After the mans wife died the man went to live in a nursing home and abandoned the old home. Soon the land, the buildings, and all their contents was sold to the adjacent ranch. The home had been boarded up for years and then used for storage until vandals started finding ways into the house. The home has a front porch where the couple stored their wood for the fire, then as you walk in to the main part of the home, it is divided into two main rooms. One room is a bedroom and the other was a dining room/living room. Off the back of the house was the kitchen area. This area was mostly caved in but you could see some interesting things still in place including the old stove. There was bathroom in this home, just a small outhouse out side the backdoor about thirty yards away. After exploring this abandoned house, we explored some of the other old buildings on the property and found a shed that hid an artesian well that was still flowing with cold fresh water. I can imagine that this is where the couple bathed. The history of this place was fascinating, and it was amazing to think of what a tough life that must have been. It was a great explore with the blessings of the current owner of the property.
