Michigan State University’s Tasha Warren knows music has the ability to inspire and transform people. The director of the Chamber Music Program at MSU is on a mission to break down the invisible barrier that separates musicians and audiences.

Warren partnered with an MSU graduate student who is a certified music therapist to create the first sensory-friendly Spartan chamber music concert where community members of all ages, including those with sensory sensitivities, enjoyed musical performances while participating from the audience.

“For many kids, this may be their first experience in a concert hall, and we want to make it an unforgettable moment,” says Warren.

Michigan State University has been advancing the common good with uncommon will for more than 160 years. One of the top research universities in the world, MSU pushes the boundaries of discovery and forges enduring partnerships to solve the most pressing global challenges while providing life-changing opportunities to a diverse and inclusive academic community through more than 200 programs of study in 17 degree-granting colleges.
