In this video we'll create an animated crowd of UMA characters in Unity using only open source assets. In less than 10 minutes you'll see how to created a crowd of 300 (or more) characters. If you aren't familiar with UMA yet you might want to watch my introductory video first - youtu.be/jpYtT47-FSE
Since making this video there have been changes in both the UMA and my code. Experience people will be able to follow along i am sure, but newer people may get stuck. I've written up some revised instructions at patreon.com/posts/create-crowd-of-53622057 and will re-record the video sometime soon. Let us know on discord (bit.ly/WizardsCodeDiscord ) how you get on, feedback and questions ahead of me re-recording the video will be helpful.
In game development you will often want background action. This unity tutorial video shows how you can, using open source code, quickly create a large crowd of NPC wandering around. We'll use the animations from the Unity Standard Assets and a custom controller, but you can use any animations and controller you own. The characters themselves will be randomly generated by UMA, which results in a different crowd every time you run.

Doing some live Unity work. This is a live stream so it has all the errors and mis-steps along the way, let me know in chat (or comments after the stream) if this is useful. Ill carry on doing edited tutorials, but these are much faster to produce ;-)
In these streams I play around with ideas for my game development work. Often mucking about with new Unity Assets to see what I can do with them. Come and join me, if you are thinking about buying the asset ask me if it can do [whatever you need]... lets experiment together.
