Hi Friends!
In this video ive been inspired by recently watching Dopesick on Disney+, particularly by the awesome date effect they use to jump between dates whilst telling the story. I thought it would be fun to try and create this date effect in final cut pro with no plugins, just the basic titles and effects that come with FCPX.
To create a cool date effect in Final Cut Pro was really easy so i thought id show you how you too can create an animated date slider for yourself in FCPX.
The animated date shows the year and then animates and slides through the years until landing on the next year where the story takes us. I thought this was not only a very effective way for viewers to keep track of the story but also a really nice visual device that helped move the story along and help viewers keep track of events.
