I liked Kyoukai no Kanata, probably more than the average anime nerd, but I never intended to make a video with it. It is (or was, anyway) one of the more popular sources for a certain style of action/drama AMV and after a while, all the KnK videos I've watched over the years have kind of started to run together. The Internet definitively does NOT need another video with this source; but, two weeks ago I was riding in the back of my in-laws' van and the idea for this video struck me pretty much out of nowhere while I was letting my mind drift. I couldn't shake it out of my head for the rest of the day so later that evening I started clipping. Sorry, Internet, one more KnK video for you all.
I don't have too much to say about this one; honestly, the reason that this exists is because the anime made me feel the same feelings that the song makes me feel. There's not much more to it than that. I tried to refrain from any kind of extended narrative in this one, instead attempting a more general exploration of the emotions found throughout the series, primarily as expressed through its two protagonists. This includes some of the more upbeat and goofy scenes (although not *too* many) that rarely seem to ever find their way into KnK AMVs. When I found myself wanting to use some of the more common scenes that one tends to see in KnK videos, I did my best to recontextualize them to hopefully keep them from feeling too stale, and where possible I avoided using them altogether. KnK has a side to it that sadly doesn't often make it into AMVs (or, at least, not the ones that I've watched), so I wanted to make this feel at least a *little* fresh.
Anyway, I'm really happy with how this one turned out from pretty much every angle. This video as it is is pretty much exactly what I envisioned when the idea invaded my consciousness and wouldn't leave me alone until I put the last scene on my timeline. I hope you like it too!

Hi all this is an MEP I took part in that I want to share with you all. Below is copy/pasted from Radical_Yues entry on the .org; she is the one who organized/headed up this MEP. In lieu of not being able to attend NDK because of COVID, which is an anime con I look forward to being a part of every year, a bunch of us who usually get together during that anime con decided to edit an MEP instead Im quite fond of the result! I hope you like it too!
So this was actually the brainchild of Moonpie. She messaged me out of nowhere and was like We should do an MEP with some of the editors who normally go to NDK since we all cant hang out this year!
A bunch of us had an itch to edit and loved the sentiment so we said HECK YEAH and decided to go for it.
We wanted to make something that we all put a decent chunk of effort into while also having some fun. This is a video that shouldnt be taken too seriously as its really just a bunch of buddies trying to have a good time but I know a lot of the editors who took part in it really pushed themselves to try new things or learn new techniques.
Mega ultra credit to ailynerie for really busting ass and providing feedback for literally every track.2020 has absolutely sucked but all praise be to the mighty internet for letting us still connect and have some fun together making AMVs.
