A panel of experts from the Duke Global Health Institute discussed the current issues of COVID-19 in the African continent at a recent Wednesdays at the Center event at Duke University.

This event was moderated by John Bartlett, Professor of Medicine, Global Health, and Nursing at the Duke University Medical Center and Co-Director of the Duke Africa Initiative.

Topics included the current epidemiology of COVID in Africa, the strengths and limitations of clinical care on the continent, the current status of vaccinations, and vaccine hesitancy.

Panelists: Carl Mhina, MD, MPH, Alex Gabagambi, MD, Patricia Odero, Regional Director, Africa at the Duke Global Health Institute, Lavanya Vasudevan, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health and the Global Health Institute at Duke University.

Wednesdays at the Center is a series organized by the John Hope Franklin Center at Duke and the Duke University Center for International and Global Studies.
