This is the moment an out-of-control council van slid SIDEWAYS down an icy road on a hill - taking out pedestrians and cars as it went.

Shocking footage shows the vehicle appear knock over a man who was stood on the pavement next to his car, leaving him sprawled on the icy ground, struggling to get up.

The van - featuring Sheffield City Council livery - then carries on down the icy hill, colliding with more parked cars - having already hit a lamppost too.
